This policy explains what personal data Symmetry Engineering PLC collects through symmetry-engineering.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We process personal data in line with Ethiopia's Personal Data Protection Proclamation No. 1321/2024.

2. What we collect
When you request a quote
Your name, company, phone number, email address, the system you are interested in, the project location, the project details you write, and your consent confirmation.
When you browse the site
Our hosting provider automatically processes technical information needed to deliver the site and keep it secure, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request.
Analytics, only if you accept
If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics collects information about how you use the site, such as pages visited, time on page, device and browser type, approximate location and the website that referred you. If you decline, or make no choice, Google Analytics is not loaded.
3. Why we use it
- To answer your enquiry, prepare a quote and take steps you ask for before entering a contract. The basis is your consent and your request.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it, only with your consent to analytics cookies.
- To keep the website secure and prevent spam and abuse.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations if your enquiry leads to a contract.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for automated decision making.
4. Who we share it with
- Our website hosting provider, which delivers the site and stores quote requests submitted through the form.
- Google, if you accept analytics cookies.
- Our email service provider, when we reply to you.
- Public authorities, where the law requires it.
5. Storage outside Ethiopia
Our hosting provider and Google may store and process data on servers outside Ethiopia, including in the United States. We tell you this before you submit the form, and the form asks for your explicit consent to it. If you prefer that your details are not stored this way, call us on +251 91 181 4688 instead of using the form.
6. How long we keep it
- Quote requests that do not lead to a contract: up to 24 months after our last contact with you.
- Records linked to a contract: for as long as the law requires for contractual, tax and accounting purposes.
- Analytics data: no longer than 14 months.
- Your cookie choice: stored in your browser for 12 months, after which we ask again.
7. Cookies
The site works without cookies. We only set analytics cookies if you select Accept analytics in the cookie banner.

The site is served only over HTTPS. Access to quote requests is limited to people who need it to respond to you. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy
- correct inaccurate data
- delete your data
- restrict or object to how we use it
- provide your data in a portable format
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting processing that already took place

10. Children
This website is intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
